Welcome to Smokin' DOT's Radial Racing.com!
I'm Bill Wolf, and I'd like to thank you for visiting my website - Smokin' DOT's Radial Racing. I race my 1991 Ford Mustang LX in the National Mustangs Racer's Association's (NMRA) BF Goodrich Drag Radial class. You may recognize it by it's unique yellow graphics, but if you don't, I think you will by the time you're done touring this website. Before you start reading about my crew, checking out my sponsors, and looking at pictures of my racing machine, I'd like to share a little of my background with you.
I was born in Springfield Illinois and moved to Florida as a toddler in 1967 where I spent the next 32 years in the Sarasota / Bradenton area . I graduated from Riverview High School in 1983 in which not long after that started getting into the Mustang drag racing and car show scene .
In 1995, I married a beautiful woman named Sally who luckily has always supported my drag racing ventures and have been blessed with three gorgeous and healthy girl's named Chealsea , Savana and Isabella .
My drag racing background started typically as many others do, on the street as a teenager cruising the highway looking for the ultimate match race from a light. I figured out quick that there was a time and a place for this and the street was not it. With the gaining popularity of the "street scene", the local drag strip started hosting grudge matches for street cars with all street equipment only. The first night that I participated I was hooked.
With the tire being the determining factor (most of the time) in the race, I kept a sharp eye out for the release of the new BFGoodrich Comp T/A Drag Radial (now known as the g-Force T/A Drag Radial) to hit the retailer's shelves . When that day came, the things took off to the level of racing that we participate in today .
I have competed in several True Street competitions held by the NMRA and Fun Ford Weekend series and World Ford Challenge events across the country. I felt that we did well for what the level of the car was for that time .
Fast forward to today with all of the technologically advanced research that goes into a drag radial tire. I still enjoy racing on what is called the racer's tire - The BFGoodrich. That is why I have chosen for the last 3 years to compete in the NMRA Drag Radial class .
With all of our "growing pains" hopefully behind us, the 2008 season promises to be a banner year for Smokin' DOT's Radial Racing and their sponsors alike .
We hope to see you at the races .
